Hi, I’m Beth — your go-to girl for solo travel tips, Seoul secrets, and all things life abroad in Korea.

First off, thank you so much for stopping by my little passion project, Solo in Seoul. Whether you’ve already booked your ticket or you’re still daydreaming over K-dramas and cherry blossoms, you’re in exactly the right place.

If you’re a solo female traveller in your 20s (physically or spiritually), curious and maybe even a little nervous about visiting South Korea alone, I get it — because I’ve been there too.

When I was 16, all I knew for sure was this: no matter what, even if I had to go alone, I wanted to travel and work abroad. I wanted freedom, adventure, and a passport full of stories. Fast-forward through an English degree, a TEFL certificate, half a teaching degree (it was NOT for me), burnout, self-doubt, and a whole lot of Google searches… and I finally took the leap. At 25 I moved from the UK to South Korea to start a brand-new chapter – solo.

Even after years of planning, studying Korean, and dreaming about this move, I was scared. Moving across the world on your own is no joke! But it’s also one of the most powerful things you can do for yourself.

That’s why I created this blog – to help other women like you travel South Korea smartly, safely, and confidently.
